KINDERGARTEN MATH

Module 3:
"Comparison to Length, Weight, Capacity, and Numbers to 10"
In this module, students:
  • Compare and analyze length, weight, volume, and number: longer than, shorter than, as long as; heavier than, lighter than, as heavy as; and more than, less than, the same as.
  • Analyze amounts using the question, “Is there enough?”
  • Develop foundational concepts of: place value, comparison of numerals, and the use and understanding of rulers and number lines.

What can you do at home to support the learning in this module?
  • Ask your child comparison questions. "Which is longer, your spoon or your fork?" Or "Which is heavier, your plate or your cup? How do you know?"
  • Ask your child to compare amounts. "I have 5 crackers, and you have 3 crackers. Who has more? How do you know?"
