A message from Vicky Cohen:
Ready to learn more about math at Mallett? Ready to find fun ways to do math with your child at home? Great!
I'm the Math Specialist at Mallett, and I'm happy to tell you the latest news about the math in your child's classroom, as well as share resources for doing math at home.
A brief word about me: I've been teaching math to kids and adults since 1983, first in New York City, then in Philadelphia, and finally here in Maine. I've been the math specialist at Mallett since August, 2010. Being the math specialist means I work with all the classroom teachers as a math coach, and I teach students in small groups as a math interventionist. I love working with teachers and brainstorming about ways to improve our teaching of math, and I love teaching students and watching them grow as mathematicians.
I have a masters in teacher education from Bank Street College in New York City, and a doctorate in math education from the University of Exeter, England. Learning and teaching math is huge fun for me, but when I'm not focused on math, I love being with my husband and my four kids. I also love traveling, singing, reading, and running.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected], or call Mallett at 778-3529, and leave a message so I can call you back.
